Both of my site evaluations were conducted in person with Andrea Pizzaro, a robotic surgery PA at NYPQ in a group setting with one of my classmates also doing Emergency Medicine at NYPQ. Both times we discussed our experiences and the procedures we were able to participate in and went through our drug cards. We also each presented a patient at the visits. At the second visit we also presented an article relevant to the patient we presented.

For these evaluations I felt like Ms. Pizzaro really emphasized the plan and patient education aspects of the patient presentations, which was a little bit different from my prior experiences. Since this was my and my classmate’s penultimate rotation, this was a valuable experience to have because we are really on the cusp of being responsible for those aspects without the safety net of someone else covering it.
